Closed Network Updates
Hi All,
I have a few questions regarding the above I currently have OMSA Essentials running on a file share server
- Is it possible to update field devices when on a closed network?
- I noticed that you can create an offline folder that you can point as your catalogue is the process automated for field device updates and dell tech centre updates ?
- Is there a proffered process or manual for closed network setups?

Hi,
Thanks for the post. For the closed network updates using OpenManage Essentials, you can use the option of using Dell Repository Manager(DRM) catalog.
With DRM you can create the local repository of the updates and create catalog for the same. Either you can copy the entire folder into OME system Or you can share the repository via file share and modify catalog.xml to point to the file share.
Once you import the catalog in OME, then OME will make use of files from the local share.
For more information refer to DRM documentation.
Hope this helps.
