Compliance and Not Compliance

Hi Guys,

It´s is possible to a customer to disable the "Optional Updates" at the System Update tab of OME?

Many customers applies only the "Critical" and "Recommended" updates and like to see the status "Compliance" (green status) for all your hardware park.

We have ways to make this with some configuration?

Thanks in advance,

Rogerio Chola

Hi Dell-Pupul,

Thanks for your response!

For all customers here in Brazil, this is a welcome option for new versions/updates for OME.

Thanks again,

Hi,

As of now OME does not support disabling optional updates. We do understand your point but as of now all the updates are expected to be pushed for the compliance to become green.

I'll forward it across to the correct people. Please keep the requests coming.

Hi,

So for the time being i do have an alternative suggestion for you. You can filter the components by removing the optional updates from the system update wizard and you can choose to create a repository manager using those update packages. This will generate a catalog which you will need to import to OME. This way you will not see the optional updates in OME and your compliance status will show green.

This is exactly what I'm trying to do. I created a custom catalog with Repository Manager with only the updates I care about and then just point OME to that catalog file. Only problem I'm having is getting OME to refresh with this new active catalog file. Even though it shows the correct catalog is active..I still see see updates on servers for devices that are from the previous catalog.

Hi,

Did  you try out the update button in View Active Catalog screen. Is it enabled/visible?

Else, as I mentioned in the separate thread, you may go to Select Catalog Source screen and try Import Now using the same file or switching to some dummy Catalog file and falling back to original.

Let us know if it works.

Thanks,
Vijay
