Import Server List as opposed to scanning range ?
Team,
Is there possibliity to import a servers list as apposed to Scannign Network Segments ?
I saw some scripts located in the install folders"\Dell\SysMgt\Essentials\Tools\CLI\Samples"
Also what are the option of exporitng and Importing Ranges or backing up configuration.
Thanks

Thanks for the post.
The best we can do is to import a list of IP addresses that will then go on to be discovered and inventoried. So the import will create a discovery range to do this.
There is no way to just import servers directly into the tree. The reason is that we require certain database fields from the instrumentation that are needed for management and correlation.
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
Rob

Rob: Are hostnames allowed in the importnodelist_32 source file? Looks like we are doing everything right then it just crashes and we get a windows dialog box stating 'openmanage essentials supporting file has stopped working' 64 bit OS. Created a hostname discovery range called default_template
Update:
well I got the same results with a straight ascii text file using only IP's The UG stated there must be a line feed on the last line, since I used notepad there was a carrige return then a line feed so I used a hex editor and got rid of the carriage return, then there was ONLY a line feed (unix style) no help
Thanks
Update: OME now has this nice gui import, never mind!
