OME 1.2.1 released
OME Team,
We have released update 1.2.1 for OME 1.2.0 release. It is available to download from the following link. Remember to run it with Administrator privileges.
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/555/DriverDetails?driverId=P1D4C
It includes the fixes for following issues reported by some of you earlier.
* After upgrading existing OME 1.1.x or OME 1.0.x to OME 1.2 version,
users may see an issue with compliant systems report,
some of the components may show up as non-compliant.
Installing 1.2.1 will clean up the catalog data tables safely.
NOTE: After installing the 1.2.1 patch users have to import a new catalog.
* If customer has a ESXi 5.x cluster setup where the ESXi host keeps
sending multiple CIMOM heartbeat SNMP alert, sometimes it may result in OME
stopping the alerts reception after few hours or days. In this scenario,
the discovery and status poll may works fine.
If the alerts continue for a long time, it may result in Network monitoring
service stop functioning completely.
* OME users are not able to update a non-PCI components firmware on iDRAC 12G
with version 1.40.40 and above using OME 1.2 console.
* OME users in rare conditions end up running update tasks without any target systems associated.
This will result in a task failure with details as below.
“The task has failed because the device selected as a target does not support this type of task.
For a detailed reference of what tasks can be run against specific devices and discovery methods,
Refer to the Managing Remote Tasks section in the user guide.
Also check if Dell OpenManage BMC Utilities are installed.”
After applying the OME 1.2.1 patch the update tasks can be created and executed successfully without this error.
Regards
Abhijit

Hi TRScott,
You can open a support ticket for this at 800-945-3355
1.2.1 has the fix for the same version issue and the work around for the same is posted on the forum. If both installed and applicable versions are showing up as "zero" either the catalog is not updated or the inventory is not updated. Tech support can take a look at the configuration.

Have you used the default install with default SQL or have you installed your own SQL Instance?
Default SQL install should work - your own SQL Instance can show the same behaviour as an off-box SQL DB!
The error you posted is because the network monitor service is not functioning correctly even though it is running.

Is your database on-box or off-box?
If it is off-box you might have encountered the same problem that I have had as well - see my posts in this forum.
I have fixed the issue in my environment with the help of a guide that describes how to move a OME db from on-box to off-box or how to host multiple OME DBs on the same off-box SQL server. Just delete / change the reg-keys described in the guides...

I have installed SQL separately and DB was created while installing ome by the system.
this was working fine till 1/9/2013 and suddenly the issues arises, by the time I have updated the version as well.

Hi dilipnet,
You can try the suggestion from szychelm. If the service is not able to communicate to the DB after this, you can open the ticket at 800-945-3355
and they can investigate further.

This describes how to move a DB from on-box to off-box:
http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/extras/m/white_papers/20413481.aspx
I know this is not your issue, but in the procedure there is a hint on how to change the DB reg-keys etc.
I would change the SQL_Authentication Key to 1 and restart the server. Next time you start OME Console it should ask you about credentials and then rewrite the reg keys as needed...
Hope this helps!

Can you type the above URL in the browser to check if you have network connectivity to these sites for downloading the catalog?
