Thanks for your post. You are saying that the device tree in OME is displaying domainname instead of hostname?
There is name resolution option available under Manage->Discovery and Inventory page. It is Discovery Schedule/configuration link on the left hand side pane.
The default name resolution is DNS and OME should be showing the DNS name for the server. You can change it to NetBIOS name which would show the hostnames for all the servers.
If just one of your servers is showing the name differently, you can look at DNS settings to see if entry for that server looks different from other servers.
Also, I wonder what the Dell Troubleshooting Tool returns when you run the "Name Resolution" test. That might be worth a try. It is on your OME desktop.
Still...it looks like a DNS setup issue. If the box has multiple interfaces (IPs), they all need to be checked for DNS giving back the correct name. Unlike ping, we can pull several IPs for the name and try each one.
If it only has one IP and is gives the wrong name, that would be odd. Ipconfig /flushdns could be used to see if that corrects it.
Check your DNS and especially the "Reverse Lookup". I had the same issue where we tried everything and nothing would make the correct name appear in OME and or through any command line.
The forward lookup might be correct but the reverse lookup is what is used when resolving an IP to a hostname.
I have the same issue. I have 2 servers that flip-flop with getting the correct name and one server that will not show up in inventory because its IP is listed on the same device. Even the Slot Information shows 3 different devices. I have verified DNS resolves correctly and the Revers DNS is also correct. I have updated the SA software on all of the boxes as well.

The Name Resolution comes up with two results. If by name it comes back with the correct name. If by IP it comes back with incorrect result.

Turning to NetBIOS rather than DNS made this work via IP.

You can try to write in the host file,ip and server name.
