HI Carlos

Can I use DELL RPM to push updates to a DELL server?  Or is RPM only used to create repositories and then you must use a different tool to get the updates to your server?

thanks

Hi, DRM does not directly push the updates to your servers. You need to use a different tool to apply the updates from the repository that you created with DRM. Some of the tools that you can use are:

  • Dell System Update (DSU): A script optimized update deployment tool that can apply DUPs to your servers from the operating system.
  • Dell Server Update Utility (SUU): A local one-to-one utility that can update BIOS, firmware, drivers, and applications on your servers from a bootable ISO or USB device.
  • Dell Lifecycle Controller (LC): An embedded systems management technology that can update the firmware using a local or Dell-based firmware repository.
  • as Dell OpenManage Enterprise or the Dell Management Plugin for VMware vCenter for the actual deployment

please take a look Dell Repository Manager (DRM) | Dell US

Hope that helps!
