Sounds like your network connection isn't stable, as the iscsi initiator is losing it's connection.
A few suggestions are:
- dedicate a nic or network (VLAN or dedicated Gbit switch) to iscsi
- put this is a different subnet than your regular networking.
- don't call the AX150i a NAS, as it's not and it will just create confusion when people try to understand your setup. This is a SAN. (check
here and
here to find some information that explains the difference)
- make sure you're not sharing virtual disks between systems unless they are clustered
A few questions:
- is the AX150i just your backup location?
- or do you have the database itself on there (or maybe both (in 2 different virtual disks))?
- if you have a dual processor unit, does the server (or do the servers if it's more than 1) have a link to both storage processors?
I plugged the db server and the two connections from the SAN into a gigabit switch.
The db is the only server attached to the 1.8 TB virtual. Still same errors. The db gets to about 10%and hangs. The database itself is 10GB, the log files are 19 GB.
I'm going to move the database local and try backing up to the SAN.
Why bothered so much. TRY some SQL management software, they are much easier to use and much safer, because you can backup the data by schedule backup.
I always believe in Acronis and Paragon, they are the top leader in the field, that's why they are not cheap.
But some inexpensive software can also solve those problems nowaday, like EASEUS TODO BACKUP ADVANCED SERVER, they are easy to use and contain a lot of impressive featues.:-D
