2 GeForce 6800 in SLI mode vs 1 GeForce 9000 series

 Hi,

I have an XPS 600, Pentium D 830, 2 GB PC5300 memory, one GeForce 6800 card. Would appreciate your opinions/answers to the following questions:

 1. For significantly greater gaming performance (MS Flight Sim 2004), should I go SLI with another GeForce 6800 card or would I be better off with just one GeForce in the 7800 or 7900 series?

 2. Since my computer only came with one card, I have no SLI bridge. Would I get a bridge if I bought another card, or does this need to be purchased separately? And, if so, where from? Are all bridges the same? The one Dell sells has a staggering $99.95 list price - I almost wonder if it is not some sort of mistake.

 Regards,

You'd be better off going with the faster series card, especially the 7900GTX.
Even one of those is better than two of the 6800's.
I do not know about Flight sim but find some reviews because it may be that the ATI cards perform better in it than nvidia.

Check out the new ATI 1GB GDDR4 card.

Search for a Tyan bridge and you ahould be able to find them for a lot less than that.

i agree.  definitely buy a better first card first and also get the connectors for sli.  as you will be needing them soon for an sli setup.  if i were you i would by the 7900gs.  i have them in duals and it rocks.  runs cool and with less power and will save you about 5 to 600 bucks from a 7900gtx dual setup.
