Dell XPS 410 BIOS UPDATE

I have been trying to install the latest version on a xps 410 but the problem is i need to do it in ms dos because windows won't update the bios with the downloadable bios update file from the website and ive tried to do it with ms dos boot but I need to input the file name in the command line but it will not accept it im using rufus should I be using it or do I use something else.

I am running windows 10 i run the program and it  says it couldn't update my bios is this because im using an ssd or somthing else

XPS 410 bios installs from XP VISTA OR 7 just fine.

  • The file DXP061-020503.EXE is using the Hard Drive format and is designed to be directly executed from Windows environments.

    1. Click Download now.
      The File Download window appears

    2. Click the Save button.
      The Save As window appears.

    3. Select Desktop using the drop-down menu to the right of Save in.

    4. Click the Save button.
      A progress meter moves as the download is completed.

    5. If necessary, click X in the upper right-hand corner of the Download Progress Window to close it upon completion

    NOTE: Shut down all other applications prior to running the BIOS update utility. The update utility reboots your system in order to get the new BIOS loaded.



      1. Double click the Icon on your desktop labeled DXP061-020503.EXE.

        The Dell Bios Flash window appears



      1. Click the Continue button.

        The message Pressing OK will close all applications, shut down Windows, Flash the BIOS, then reboot. appears.

    1. Click the OK button.

      The system will restart and the Bios Flash will be completed.

Im using windows 10 x32 bit but the computer will give me Disk I/O Error

and i cannot do anything else i re-boot the system and it says the same thing

No Events found!
