Memory upgrade for 0RY007 motherboard
I have been doing some research on memory for my Dell Inpiron 530. I have 4 slots for memory(2x1GB @333MHz, 1x512MB @333MHz and 1x1GB @400MHz installed now) I am planning on adding 4x2GB @800MHz but have to do it in 2 steps(2x2GB now and 2x2GB later).
From what I understand, the 800MHz will only run as fast as the next highest speed. Is this correct? Also, If I decide take out the old RAM and only run the first step in my upgrade(until I'm able to get the other), is there a specific slot that NEEDS to be filled on the board?
Any help would be great!

I suggest you go to the Crucial site and use their upgrade adviser to check.

Osprey, thank you for the reply.
I couldn't understand the Crucial adviser. Only thing it told me is the stuff I already knew(how much RAM, frequency, and speed).
But, here is what I learned. I took out the 1x512MB @333MHz(DDR2 PC2-5300) and one of the 1x1GB @333MHz(DDR2 PC2-5300) and added 2x2GB @800MHz(DDR2 PC2-6400).
Started my PC checked it with CPU-Z, it showed 6GB RAM and everything was running @333MHz. So I took out the other 1x1GB @333MHz(DDR2 PC2-5300), restarted showed 5GB RAM and everything was running at @400MHz, which is the same as the stick I didn't take out.
So, doing this I I have figured out my question. To use the full capacity and speed of my memory, I should have 4x*GB @800MHz(DDR2 PC2-6400).
Oh, and there doesn't appear to be a "required" DIMM slot on the 0RY007 motherboard. Seems like it checks to see if the slot is filled, if not, it moves to the next slot.
