MSI GTX 1060 6GB for Dell XPS 8700 fit?

I have a Dell XPS 8700 currently with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 745 and I want to upgrade it to a MSI GeForce GTX 1060 DirectX 12 GTX 1060 GAMING X 6G 6GB 192-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready ATX Video Card.
Is it compatible in terms of size, slots on the motherboard (Dell 0kwvt8), enough power?
If it will require more power, what do you recommend for the minimum wattage needed and pls help m select a PSU for me that fits. Thanks a lot.

Hi,

Welcome to our community.

To answer your question, XPS 8700 is shipped with a PSU of 460W. The card that you want to purchase requires a PSU of 400W. Having said that, MSI GeForce GTX 1060 DirectX is not tested by Dell and hence we cannot guarantee the performance. Below mentioned cards are the one’s tested by Dell:

Integrated (UMA) — Intel HD Graphics 4600

Discrete — NVidia GeForce GTX 635, 1GB DDR3

Discrete — NVidia GeForce GTX 660, 1.5GB GDDR5

Discrete — NVidia GeForce GTX 645, 1GB GDDR5

Discrete — NVidia GeForce GTX 650Ti, 2GB GDDR5

Discrete — AMD Radeon HD 7570, 1GB GDDR5

Discrete — AMD Radeon HD 8870 2GB GDDR5
