Thanks for the response.
Do you know if they were discontinued due to any technical reason(s) or just put out to pasture and moving on?

Moving on. System is over 2 yrs old.
You could not be more welcome.
720 was released in May '07.... but the original 700 was released a year earlier.
700, 710 and 720 are all BTX designs.
Dell had to (pressure from enthusiasts) move to the ATX design/MoBo... hence the release of the 730 in May '08
and once they depleted their supply of the 720s.... now you only have the 730 as an option for new.
The 720 is still an awesome machine, and buying from Dell Outlet is a very wise and frugal decision.
I and my friends have bought many from the outlet with zero regrets.
All the Outlet machines are tested and come with the same as new one-year warranty and in-home service.
Plus you can buy a longer warranty (3 years?) with your purchase.
So, unless you like the 730 and ATX, go for the 720 and save money.
PS a lot of people including yours truly like the front panel of 720 better than the 730!!!
