will the inspiron 570 be able to handle a ATI HD 4670 video card
hi guys i was wondering if this computer can handle the ATI HD 4670 video card i read in another post that it actually works but i would like to know if i would run like an HD 4650 does on this computer or if there are any issues if i use the 4670. thankx in advance

The HD 4670 will work fine on your system. It is an older 4000 series card so not one I would recommend that you go out and buy today unless you already have it or got a good deal on it.

Welcome to Dell Community.
ATI 4600 Series will not work on an Inspiron 570 as the card requires a 400 Watt or greater power supply (550 Watt for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode). Whereas the inspiron 570 has a power supply of 300 Watts.
Moreover if the system is a brand new one it would come with Integrated ATI Radeon HD4200 Graphics. So a good option would be to use any of the ATI 4300 Series as it would be compatible with the system. ATI Radeon™ HD 4350 would be recommended.

You should be able to buy a compatible power supply from either a local or online computer store.
Note: You require a power supply with four SATA power connectors.

Obviously, if the HD 5670 works so will the HD 4670 which uses less power. The HD 5670 and HD 6670 are the better choices over the older HD 4670 though. The 4300 series is very low-end.

For what it's worth, I had a 6570 working in a mini-ITX with 220-watt power supply.

So I found a 5670 but it says it gddr5 will it work on my desktop or should I look for one like the one mine a DDR3 oh and by the way thanks for letting me know that those cards actually work on the 570

Make sure you are not overpaying for the HD 5670 since there are a limited supply of them now and have been replaced by the HD 6670. Anything over $75 is too much. Even the newer HD 7750 which is much better has been reported to work just fine on the Dell 300 watt units and they sell for just $100. You would be making a mistake today by getting the older HD 5670 when the newer HD 6670 offers better performance and uses less power and most likely a lower cost at only around $60 after rebates.
