Windows supports paths up to 32,767 characters in length. If an application (typically non-Unicode) or driver assumes the maximum length of a path is 255 or 260 characters, it's the application or driver that's at fault. Unfortunately, DiskXtender appears to make this assumption.
Use Long Path Tool, Long Path Tool can simplify and probably end your problems in unlocking, managing and renaming files that appear to have a long filename.
