Consider Automation of Security Controls
As a Dell EMC partner, my company has ECS as one of recommended storage solutions. For every customer adopting Dell EMC systems, there are guidelines provided for security settings such as ID management, audit logs, network settings, etc. In this year review there is a new subject being broadly discussed about ways to automate how these settings are configured. So this post here to check if the automation of the security settings can be considered for any future firmware development. Thank you.

Hello tulioguerra,
When it comes to security, we don’t offer automation due to most customers having different security setting of every company. There are some base setting in which we have automated but past that we let each customer make their own selections for security settings as the customers know their environment and security needs better than we do.

Automation of security controls is a logical and valuable next step, especially as ECS deployments scale. Standardizing and automating baseline security configurations such as IAM policies, audit logging, and network hardening would reduce human error, speed up deployments, and help ensure consistent compliance across environments. Providing native support via APIs, templates, or policy-as-code in future firmware would greatly benefit partners and customers managing multiple ECS systems.
