ECS API Best Practices

We have an MODEL TYPE EFX900, we're looking to use gather APIs for predictive type monitoring and alerting on storage relate  issues.   We have a few questions:

Is there any API call to check for active ECS alerts - this way we can just check 1 API call and have recipients of the Splunk alert check ECS page manually?
Any API call to check for active ECS error symptom codes - same as above, but then we can map to a specific error?
Get API call list for each and every error condition in the above ECS alerts list?
