I'm assuming you are using the Dell Client Deployment Pack with ConfigMgr correct? I will forward this to the dev team. It sounds like there is an issue with the Manifest.xml.
The manifest.xml issues will be addressed in new releases of the CABs. The Win7 Cabs for E6410/E6510 have been fixed. Let me know which ones specifically you are looking for feedback on and I'll try and get estimates for you.
Can you detail the problem you are facing(for 6410, A05 cab)?
You will need to delete the old package (if you had included earlier). Also please use the latest version of DCDP.
We will be waiting for your response to get to the root cause.
"When I import Dell driver cabs into SCCM, it doesn't put the drivers in the drivers folder. In the package, the drivers folder is empty even though the import completed successfully. This worked in the past, I don't know what has changed to cause it to stop working. The Data Source path looks like the following: \\MyServer\SMS_COS\OSD\Lib\DriverPackages\Dell\Client\T5500-Win7-A00-R253041\T5500\win7\x86\Audio
When it did work correctly, it named the folders differently: \\MyServer\SMS_COS\OSD\Lib\DriverPackages\Dell\Client\960-Win7-A00-R246445\960\win7\x861B0C2993-4365-4ADB-BD89-C78E3564475D
Any ideas why it's not working? thanks!"
Well this cab is pretty old, and a new release has not been made in the recent past. Please check your setup. You might want to delete the old package (if any ) and try importing again.
I just tried importing the 6410 A05 cab (E6410-win7-A05-R296780) and it worked flawlessly.
I had the same problem with 780-win7-A00-R251804 which isn't updated recently. I suspect that's not the only driver cab with the same problem as with the 6410-package - will there be a fix for all the other driver cabs too?
Sorry to bump an old thread but I'm having the exact same problem with all the XP cab files 760/780/E5400/5410/E5500/E5510 ..
It puts the mass storage drivers into drivers but not the specific model ones.. if i browse to the folder it inported to they are infact all there just not available within configmgr..
Im guessing I could manually export and import the cabs but I'd like to use the CAB import wizard.
