Win XP pro NVIDIA driver fails

Client:
Latitude E6520 with NVIDIA graphics
Latitude E6420 with NVIDIA graphics
OS Win XP Professional (32bit)
Optimus setting turned off in the bios

System imaging:
MS MDT 2010
Driver CABs for Dell Enterprise class systems A01-R305343 / A00-R297605

Issue:
NVIDIA drivers fail to load
When allowing the system to scan for drivers from R296611 the Nvidia NVS 4200M card is recognized but ends with an error trying to install the driver. The system cannot find the file specified. At this point it’s showing as a display device under Other Devices.

I’ve been looking at the document “Latitude E-Family Mobile Precision Re-Image How-To Guide Rev 3.0” which says to install the Intel Media adapter then install the Nvidia Discrete Graphics driver.

When I run the exe for the Intel Media adapter (R305392) I get an error that the system doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.

When I point the device to the Graphics folder for R305392 it installs some files and moves the Display device to Display Adapters but still errors. E6420 only this step doesn’t work for the E6520.

Nvidia is working on new drivers for both Win7 and XP that will install successfully with OS deployment tools. I don't have an ETA for the release yet.

I am having the exact same issue with the Nvidia NVS 4200M WinXP driver in MDT 2010. I tried the new drivers which were released on 9/13/2011 but I still experience the same problem.

Any recommendations?

The Nvidia drivers that were corrected to work with ConfigMgr and MDT were not released on support.dell.com.  You need to get them from the CAB files here
