eqlrethin on windows 2008 R2 with Exchange
Hi,
I have PS6500 arrays and updated the firmware to 6.0.7 recently. I want to claim back space on exchange database and log LUNs, the LUNs show reported size the same as reserved size although only a small percentage is being used by the OS. Below is the recommendation from the eqlrethin command. How will I be able to fix the reported size on the array?
C:\Program Files\EqualLogic\bin>eqlrethin j:\ -a
Volume j:\
File system reports 2.6 GB in use, SAN reports 100.0 GB allocated for this vol
ume.
Rethinning could recover up to 0.0 MB (0%) of storage for this volume.
Rethinning is not recommended.

what is the lun size? 10% is the minimum, you equallogic will allocate, so if your log drive is for example 1tb, you wont be able to rethin below that 100gb

The LUN size tested is 100GB and 100GB has been allocated from the SAN side. This is a exchange log LUN on the host side.

This is a thin provisioned volume and I am getting this space usage warning on most of the other thin provisioned volumes as well.
