NAS replication FS7500 > FS6710

Hi,

We have 2 FS7500's and are replacing them with 2 FS7610's. We chose not to do an in place Head swap.

Now I try to replicate an NAS container from a FS7500 V2.0.7630 to a FS7610 V3.0.940120,

I made them replication partners and while testing from the FS7610 everything looks fine.

When trying to define replication from 7500 to 7610 things go south rapidly. The error says that it could not  get the necessary information from the remote host. I shoulcd check IP, passwords.

Both machienes are in the same iSCSI net so......

Any ideas??

grtz,

I'm fairly certain you can replicate between a 7500 and 7610 (at least we've been successfully doing it for a while).  Don is right re: the firmware versions and # of units though.

Hi bealdrid2,

More combination possible even with lower FW versions.. As long as you replicate to higher versions.

I don't think one should do this in a production configuration but during migrations/updates it could save you valuable time.

Hi Don thanks for your reply.

We are replicating between other FS FW mixes succesfuly.

FS7500 V2.. to FS7500 V3...

FS7500 V3.. to FS7610 V3..

FS7500 V2.. to FS7610 V3.. is the only one not working at the moment.

and even the FS7500 V2 we are having the problem with is replicating to a FS7500 v3!

I m trying to find the logic in this.
