Shutdown Procedure
Hi,
I have a Group with 2 members. I need to relocate one of the members to another rack. This will require Shutdown which i can do from the Serial cable. The question i have is do i need to shutdown both members in order to do this or just the one that is moving?
Regards
Tom

Thanks for your Reply Donald,
Both members are in the same pool. Do i Shutdown Member one, wait for full shutdown and then shutdown member two. When bringing back up do i power member one, wait until fully operational and then power up member two. How will this affect the volumes? Will they stay offline until the second member is active?
Thanks

You have to shutdown your Hosts/Server first.
Pressing the shutdown button in the GroupManager GUI or in the command line the EQL just flushed the cache and stopping serving IO. You have to manually power down the unit after that. If you like you can do on both members one after the other. If Volume LoadBalancing is enabled.. your Volume goes offline after shutting down the first memeber for sure.

Thanks Joerg. When Starting the members up will the volume stay offline until the second member is powered up. There is Volume LoadBalancing in the Pool.
