So looking at the Support matrix,hardware wise all checks out can work together. So depending on what software that you are running as long as there are no restrictions there then you should be good to go as it should work.

So with the space requirements that you are needing of 1100TB of space the only way that I can see that working is that you will need to get 6TB drives for your MD3060. The 6TB drives are supported on the MD3060 & is in the matrix that I sent you earlier on page 12. Other than using 6TB drives the MD series line will not be able to handle the space requirements that you are looking for.

With 240HDD it would give around 960TB of storage if I use 4TB drives. My requirement is to have around 1100TB of storage and I already have R720's installed which are working as proxy server. What would be the best way to implement the hardware that it meets storage requirement of 1100TB. I don't want to put storage on R720xd's. Is there any other storage enclosure which could provide more storage as compared to MD3060? Ám not looking for Equalogic or Compellant solutions.
hey Sam, I am not sure if this would be the correct way of doing it. But what if I take another pair of R720xd fully populated along with 4 MD3060@4TB attached to it. This entire would work as a storage node. Will have this storage node connected to my existing R720xd proxy nodes. Will it be correct to keep storage on R720xd as well as on MD3060?
