Normally replacing the battery on the card will not cause this issue. I know you said that you were not onsite with the unit but have you had someone check to ensure that the cable is plugged into the management pot on the controller? If so then have you tried to reboot the MD3000 to see if it will come back to being managed?
Let us know if after reseating the management cable doesn’t resolve the issue.

Turns out Raid controller was set to DHCP and it didn't like it. Once we configured static IP, all is well. Thanks for your assistance.
