PS Series Reboot Controller Selection

All,

Is there a way to designate a specific controller to always be primary (during reboots and firmware updates)? Or is there a way from a serialed session to a secondary controller to force a failover so it becomes the primary? The reason I ask, is that I'd rather not have to run double the amount of serial cables to the controllers.

Thanks!

No, there's no way to specify which CM is active. When you do a firmware upgrade, the CM's will switch roles. In the GUI, you use "Restart" to initiate a failover. Wiring both isn't required but in an emergency comes in handy. Especially if physical access to the arrays isn't always available.
