PS Volume: Smart Copies Unsupported

I have two volumes on a PS3700X, they are identical on the array side of things, one has multiple VMs and templates and it reports Smart Copies: Supported.

The second volume (Vol2) has one VM and one template on it and it reports Smart Copies: Unsupported.

Am I on the right track here? The VM that is on Vol2 has 2 hard disks on it, both disks are sliced from Vol2. Would this cause the "unsupported storage" error. Can you only have one vmdk disk per VM in order for Smart Copies to work?

This is the only difference I see in volumes and VMs, for one to be supported and the other to not be?

Thanks

I'm not sure my theory is correct. I removed the second hard disk from a VM and it still reported not supported in ASM/VE. I moved the same VM to a different volume and ASM/VE reports it as supported. So, what could be the issue with Vol2 to not allow smart copies?

I suspect that the 2nd VMDK was on a different Datastore. That is not supported by ASM/VE.

So I've found out if I REBOOT the vCenter server and open ASM/VE back up then the volumes display as supported. I'm not sure what is going on here? My vCenter server is physical and ASM/VE is installed on the vCenter server.
