Hi to all. I am Nikos from Greece, Athens.

I am working as Storage/Unix (HP) Admin in a Telecomunication Company.

I dont think i have a speciality because my daily job needs just "basics from all".(ECC, SMC, SYMCLI, SRDF, TimeFinder,CLariion, VMAx, Connectrix.......).

Previous week i decided and passed   the First Associate exam.

Now i decided to try the "Symmetrix Solutions Specialist" but since i am not able to have a training i am using the Solution enabler DVD to study.

I have printed 1000 pages untill now........(dizzy to read on screen).

Hobbies, Gym when i am not reading, movies, and learning Chinese!!!!

Hello Nikolaos,

A BIG congratulations on passing your Associate level EMC Proven Professional exam! And welcome to this great community where you can learn and share with thousands of others!

Our VILTs are great as resources.  When you find that you need inormation, you'll now have two options:  Look through your printed material or watch a lesson on DVD.  Lots of printing, I know, but many have told us that tip aboput preparing for a customer site visit using the VILT as a refresh.

May I ask why you've chosen to learn Chinese?  It's a beautiful language, but I always thought it was also very difficult to learn.

Hi Michelle. Thank you for the welcome and the info. I am happy to be part of this community and share a piece of knowledge with all of you.

I am trying to learn chinese because my wife is chinese (Shanghai) and we are planning  in the future to rellocate there. I know is soooo difficult and my progress is very very slow but i am trying.

I feel remembering all of these symcli commands and options is more difficult than Chinese !!!!! (kidding)

Hello All.

     1. My Name is Caleb Snow, and tomorrow I go take my E20-001 for the first time. I am feeling pretty good about it, which has me scared Located in Richmond, Virginia. Taking my CISSP coursein September, then on to ITIL foundations, then hopefully some more EMC certs. (hint, hint EMC headhunters )

     2. I just discovered these EMC communities and will most likely be a frequent flyer in the months to come. I have specialized in Active Directory and Exchange migrations for the last 8 years.Have migrated all versions of AD and Exchange and many versions of Send mail. Novell Directory and Groupwise, Lotus Notes, Unix Sun Mail, etc all into AD environments. Have had a strong desire to get into the Storage arena for many years and was consulting to Northrop Grumman for 2 years doing AD migrations when they posted a Sr Level engineer role. I applied and miraculously was chosen back in September of last year. Needless to say the last 10 months have been trial by fire. I am one of 3 engineers supporting 5 DMX's, 7 Clariions, Brocade and Cisco storage swithces, an ECC 6.1 setup, and 4 large AVAMAR grids. It has been an intense 10 months of learning on the job. I love it. We are about to go through a migration off some old boxes onto some new VMAX's so I am pretty stoked about that.

     3. Hobbies? I love making wine. Working on a Merlot and a Shiraz right now. Cooking, spending time with my wife and two pugs, and working from home. Anyday I can hike or get into the woods is a good day.
