Who are you?

I thought I'd start a thread so people can introduce themselves. To participate, reply to this thread with the following information:

  1. Your location (as detailed or broad as you feel comfortable with)
  2. Your technical strengths
  3. One thing most people don't know about you

I'll start:

  1. I am in Massachusetts, but I'm from the Florida Panandle
  2. UNIX, SAN, and now I'm beefing up my IP networking administration skills
  3. I was in musicals in high school

OK, who's next?

Hi all,

...some word to me:

1. I´m working as a SA within EMC in Germany.

2. Favorites:

So, any unix is welcome...

I do scripting in shell and perl. I developed a framework which is able to handle any replication from Symmetrix and CLARiiON including SANCopy, OpenReplicator and STAR. It is a GlobalTool, called EMCADM/2.

I am very proud to get my EMCTAe-Certification :-)

3. I´m singing in a chorus on a semi-professional level and I am playing organ

Welcome Janice... and everyone else who I've missed saying hello to for a while!

I just had to jump in here and comment because your post sounded like we were starting some kind of a "geeks support group": Hi I'm Allen and I've been a user since...    *lol*

While we don't have any kind of program to cure us (or even help us along that way), this really is a kind of a virtual support group where we can lean on each other to get us through each day. For some of us this is somewhat of an addiction and we can use all the help we can dealing with the technology (and training) issues that come up.

Before anyone gets upset, I'm in no way trying to make fun of any of the wonderful helpful addiction support groups out there. Just pointing out that group therapy is good for more than just the established "societal issues".

Welcome to the community! What sort of things are you doing to learn more about SAN? On the job training or something more formal?
