The Solaris configuration file /kernel/drv/sd.conf should contain all Targets and LUNs that a user may want to access. Devices accessed via Emulex Fibre Channel adapters and Emulex driver can be up to 512 Targets with a maximum of 256 LUNs per target.
I'll go dig out what the maximums are for Sun Leadville driver too....
I had a dim and distant thought lurking at the back of mind that said solaris can handle up to 512 but I wasn't sure if that was just wishful thinking.
Thanks for the help - makes my provisioning that little bit easier.
From doing a bit of "Googling" it seems that the Leadville driver is rumored to support a theoretical maximum of 16,000 devices/target... I can't find any actual documentation to support this at the moment... will keep looking!
I thought with certain HBAs, there was a method in Windows to go as high as 511... I'm sure the HBA would have to do some sort of "masking" though for Windows to pick it up.

The number of LUNS per target for QLogic HBAs has now been increased to support a maximum of 16K

I've personally seen solaris hosts (with leadville drivers) using luns over 0xff (255). I guess they don't lie
