Did cluster validation pass when you created the cluster?

When disks are added into the Windows 2008 cluster, they should show up in a reserved state in disk manager, but you should still be able to use them for cluster applications.

When you remove a disk from the cluster, it should release the reservation and leave the disk in an offline state. In your case, it sounds like this reservation was not released from the cluster disks. When you release the reservation and reboot the node, you should no longer see a RAW partition.

We can clear this reservation pretty easily, though I'd recommend you open a case with us to allow us to take a look at the configuration before releasing this reservation. If you've got an open service request, let me know.

It appears from the Service Request that this issue was resolved by the application of an ePack to apply fix 50933 to the microcode.
