Inspiron 24-5490 AIO, how to use HDMI in as a monitor
Hi,
I had a new Inspiron 24-5490 AIO. There is an HDMI-in port on the back and the manual says, "Connect a gaming console, Blu-ray player, or other HDMI-out enabled devices.". However, when I plug my another laptop into it, my laptop actually can detect 'Digital television Inspiron 549X', but I cannot switch the AIO display from its own windows to the laptop's. So how can I do that? I have tried the OSD button but apparently it is not the solution.
Thanks

It worked by pressing the BIST button, thank you!! Didn’t know if it’s existence! (no wonder why it wasn’t working when pressing the power button ha!) Also downloaded the on-screen driver as seen on other posts.

There is a small button next to (Left of power button) that is the input select button for the AIO display. Mine is AIO 5410, I believe it should be the same with 5490 as well.

What if I press it and it doesn't switch the display. I know where it's at and it was working a few days ago but it just suddenly stopped. Is there anything I could do?

I had the same issue. It turns out 2 seconds is too long. If you momentarily (less than 1 sec) press and release, the screen will switch from pc to hdmi input. Press again and it reverts back to pc. Hope this helps.
