Struggling to find missing base system driver any advice welcome please.

What model computer is it? You said Poweredge R550, which is a server, but you posted in the laptops forum.
I suggest that you install the chipset driver. You didn't specify your OS, so I cannot know which driver to link for you. Go to Dell's drivers page for that server, choose your OS and in the Category drop-down list select Chipset.

I have this challenge for my dell g5 and on the drivers page, there is no such thing as a base system device driver.
