BIOS Boot issues

Hello,

I recently acquired Dell Inspiron 15 3573 and I am having a major issue with the boot settings in BIOS.

When I attempted to install OS I encountered the common issue of not being able to select bootable device. Nothing suggested in the internet actually worked and I accidently found out that by enabling and immediately after disabling the secure boot and save/restart the PC - I do get the computer in UEFI with Legacy OPROM "mode" and I get to see the HDD and CD/USB boot options.

I have checked multiple posts but none has worked so far and I even installed the latest BIOS available (1.7.0) with no effect or difference.

To sum up, currently I have Windows installed but to get it to load I need to:

Start the notebook

Go to BIOS

Enable and immediately disable secure boot (by default it is disabled but if I leave it to boot on it's own, I get the below error)

Save and restart

Hit F12 and select HDD

I do not have the "modern" BIOS with clickable tabs and settings and here is a screenshot of the BIOS Boot "configuration".

I am also unable to change UEFI to anything different as, when I hit enter while highlithed, nothing happens. If I do not pull the boot menu at start, I receive error "cannot find enabled device/media" (screenshot is taken before the BIOS update but the message remains the same with 1.7.0).

I have also tried to load defaults, use different Windows 10 version but nothing helped.

Sounds to me like you installed in MBR BIOS Legacy mode somehow?

I didn't see what your SATA setting are. They should be either Raid or AHCI, if set to RAID then the IRST driver must be installed before you install will be able to see the Hard Drive/SSD as an installable Volume..

Your Install USB/DVD needs to be booted UEFI in order to install UEFI
