Dell G7 fan noise.

Hello, I am new here and not the most computer savvy person in the world but I was wondering if anyone has similar experiences with the fan noise on this machine and if it’s normal?

When I game the fan seems to be running really loud.  I know it’s from the gaming so I checked to make sure the machine it’s self is cool it runs about 60 degrees Celsius with a max of about 90 when gaming.

So my question is is it normal for the fan to be this loud when gaming?  Is it a big deal as long as it’s staying cool?  The machine it’s self is new (got it Friday) and I got an update for the bios setting tonight so it should be ok unless there is a fan issue.

Talk "ABOUT" it, kind fellow.  Instant solution to an ear-raking problem.

Solution Confirmed

PROS - It doesn't make that loud CLICKITY CLICK sound.  The PC runs cooler.

CONS - It costs performance.

I LOVE this reply.  Thank you so much for pointing out the obvious.  In and out of the BIOS every other day it seems, but never wanting to sacrifice those GhZ.  I'll just disable that and let my GPU do the work.

I have the same problem as my Dell g7 7590. I just bought this laptop a few months ago and at first, I just ignored the loud fan noise as well as screeching noise while playing some music or video but it annoys me now. I like my dell computers because they are durable. All the hardware is up to date and I am still on warranty. Also, I use ultra-performance for my thermal management and balance I'm power. sometimes when I just watching movies the fan noise is really loud to the point that I need to put my volume max.

Since Day 1 of use, the fan noise of my computer is extremely loud to the point that I have to turn the television volume up whenever this happens!  I have tried all of the recommendations relayed in other comments without success, unfortunately!  I love the large size of the LCD display and the illuminated keyboard of this laptop, but I am tempted to purchase a different gaming laptop due to the elevated and distracting noise level of the fan!

Update:  It appears that the recommendation to access BIOS and disable the Intel Turbo Boost may have worked!!!  Thank you!  We shall see in a few days if this troubleshooting tip was a viably sustainable one!

Same problem here.
I can't use it to play on my trainrides because it will be so loud I'll occupy the whole wagon with it.
That's a real letdown.
The noise is unbearable and it doesn't even matter if i put the video settings of the game to the lowest, fans still will be blasting.
