Dell G7 RTX 2070 Max-Q Gaming LAG

I have bought a Dell laptop with the following configuration:
I9 10th generation processor
32 GB RAM
RTX 2070 Max-Q Design CPU

The problem is that I can't play any game because about 2 min after I start playing the FPS drops too much (5 - 8 FPS). I have done a factory reset, I have reinstalled the GPU drivers, I have made sure that the laptop is connected to AC power, I have tried several games, I have made sure that the power settings are at high performance. But even so I continue with the problem, I am already desperate. I bought a gaming laptop that can't play games.

I have checked the Dell support assistant program, but it says that everything is fine.

Please someone tell me how to fix the problem.

I am also having he same issue with my 6 day old G7 7500, i7 10750M with RTX 2070 Max-Q, and 32gb 2933mhz

When playing games, my frames drop to 6 to 15fps. When this happens my GPU maxes at 100% and drops to 300mhz, witch is the base clock speeds! If i press the G Boost button, it just back up to speed and frames return to normal and can play the game for a few mins or so.

Also reported this issue at this link:

Send your report also on this thread so they can all be in one area and Dell can see this issue is NOT pertaining to just one person! this NEEDS to be fixed! Im not going to pay over $3,000 Cdn for a facebook machine!

maybe you can check on the alienware command centre to see whether it is caused by cpu/gpu overheat and makes it crash ? if it still dont work i think u can send it by carry in support

Its a gpu issue. The gpu drops to its base clock of 300mhz mid game after 10 to 20 mins.

Gpu temps stay below 75c normally near 70 tops.

Cpu stays below 90c and is always near 35 to 40% usage and gpu jumps to 100% when it drops to 300mhz.

Dell is having mine being sent in for repairs. Will see what they come up with.

Did you end up getting your laptop fixed by Dell? If so, how much did it end up costing you? I have a G7 with the same issue...i can barely get any games started.
