Dell Inspiron 15 5100 45173 RAM replacement

Hi, I'm looking to replace the RAM and hard drive on my Dell Inspiron 15. I've looked around this forum and other places, but everything l've found is either conflicting with something else, confusing or both. Can anybody help me out with this?

I'm looking to get as much RAM as possible, so if anybody could recommend me some good RAM that would be appreciated. I'm also looking into getting a new hard drive, but that is not my priority.

The full list on the bottom my my laptop reads Inspiron 15 45173/SDPPI/2016 5100 if that helps.
