Dell v Intel v Windows Updates
I have a Dell Inspiron 7380 laptop, that I use infrequently. However, I apply all updates once per week.
For over a year now, and when I switch on, I get the following message (from Intel Driver & Support Assistant):-
Intel® Graphics - Windows® 10 DCH Drivers
Installing this Intel generic graphics driver will overwrite any customized driver from your Computer Manufacturer (OEM).
OEM drivers are handpicked, customized, and validated to resolve platform-specific issues, enable features and enhancements, and improve system stability. Intel’s generic graphics drivers are intended for testing, and we recommend using drivers from Dell. Report any issues found with this driver to Intel.
Is it ok for me to install this? If not, how can I get rid of this notification?

Intel is telling you to use the Dell driver. Thus no reason to have/use the Intel driver and support assistant. Uninstall that and the message should go away.
It is correct that Dell does use custom hardware implementations and thus custom drivers are needed. This is the same way with needing Dell model specific Realtek sound drivers (and Waves MaxxAudio) for proper sound operation and jack detection.

I also received this notice on Intel updates but for my computer it further states that if your computer is a 6th generation processor or newer your computer manufacturer’s customizations will remain intact after upgrading to this graphics driver. I went ahead and copied this from Intel on my Dell XPS 8640 desktop. Would that make any difference to the replies??
If a newer graphics driver is available from Dell, we recommend you install that driver instead. To learn more about installing an Intel driver on your OEM system, refer to this article. If you encounter any issues with the Intel driver, please report them to us.
If you have a 6th Generation Intel® processor or higher, your computer manufacturer’s customizations will remain intact after upgrading to this graphics driver. To identify your Intel® Processor generation, see How to Find the Generation of Intel® Core™ Processors.

But what about other Intel drivers such as the wifi and bluetooth ones?
