Inspiron 14-7000 Power button
My dell laptop 14 - 7460 is 2 years old already and some problems are already can be noticed. My power button looks okay on the outside however as I push the power button, my laptop wont turn on. Even if I press it multiple times, my laptop still wont turn on. What could be the explaination of this?

Are you sure that the battery and ac adapter are working properly? Any lights anywhere, and do you see a light on the adapter? Try resetting the computer. Disconnect the battery and the adapter, then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then reconnect everything and try again.

I had the same problem (I bought my Inspiron in 2017). Apparently the problem was that the battery was "overcharged". What I did so far:
October 2018: I removed the battery and pushed the ON button for 30 seconds, reinstalled everything and worked.
Than again the same process in December 2018, and I also restricted the battery to load beyond 90% (to avoid overcharging"). On Monday (April 22) it again would'n turn on. Yesterday again, but this time I unscrewed the back cover, and before removing the battery I pushed the ON button and it worked! This led me to think that the problem is in the ON button... but this is only my empirical deduction, I have no way to prove it. But I can tell you I am kind of tired of unscrewing my lap to make it work.
If anyone has a solution, (other than buying another lap) will be greatly appreciated....

i dont have the solution but i think you are right, the problem is in the on button. Considering my own experience with inspiron 7460 and reading other people reviews about the laptop, i think it is a very common issue in this model. I bought my laptop 3 years ago, and right now i am facing this issue for the third time.. What the technician does in my case is just open the back of the laptop, detach and reattach some wire and the laptop starts working until it goes down again..
