Inspiron 7577 Touchpad Problem
The touchpad on my Inspiron 7577 has been gradually becoming more and more faulty recently. Sometimes the touchpad simply won't work at all. Other times it works but doesn't accept any gestures, and other times it works completely fine.
Tonight it stopped working at all, accepting no inputs but also causing my mouse to fly around the screen clicking erratically and completely uncontrollably, even with my external USB mouse plugged in.
All drivers are up to date and the touchpad/mouse settings won't allow me to disable the touchpad to just use an external mouse.
Does anyone have any tips/solutions to this problem? Otherwise this problem effectively bricks the laptop.

I shut down my touchpad a while ago as the same issue tend to happen on start-up:
- erratic movement
- clicking everything on its path
I tried to restart it recently and (this has no foundation in correct hardware management) after I tapped it quite hard with 3 fingers - it returned to nominal operation. My guess is some connection are getting loose and/or oxidised - that wouldn't have been a problem if I knew where to look, but 7577 being a multilayer jungle as it is requires more professional approach.
