Is my battery genuine?
I bought a battery with the s/n:
KR-00GFJ6-7EW00-826-A1KK-A00for my Inspiron 5577. I bought it on amazon since dell stores tell variably different costs.
The shipped package was sealed with a Dell Certified Parts hologram.
- I wanted to know how can I apply for warranty if required in the future?
- Also, is the battery genuine?
- How can I test its energy capacity (to see if it's really 74Wh)?
- Where do I get a Service Tag of the battery?

If you didn’t buy from Dell, it’s impossible to know if you received a genuine Dell battery. A serial number doesn’t guarantee a product is genuine since a counterfeit manufacturer can just print real serial numbers onto their products.
As for your other questions, I don’t think Dell’s warranty will apply to parts you didn’t receive directly from Dell, unless maybe Dell can somehow confirm that the battery is genuine. For energy capacity, there are battery information and monitoring utilities that can show statistics including the energy stored in the battery, so charge it to 100% and see what one of those utilities says. And batteries don’t have Service Tags. Systems and certain other products like displays have Service Tags, but individual components don’t.

You did not buy from Dell. Dell doesn't sell on Amazon. Those are all resellers and it's hard to know if the battery you bought is new or used and repackaged. Dell does not have "shops" either. Your 10 yr old model does not have replacement batteries because those are not being manufactured anymore.
Computer parts and Batteries don't have tags. Only computers have service tags. There is no warranty available on replacement batteries. Battery info here-- https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/sln128667/dell-laptop-battery-frequently-asked-questions?lang=en
If the new battery doesn't work, try and return it to the seller and/or Amazon. You can try removing the battery and using the adapter alone. If that works use it that way until you can replace the laptop.

Hey, I think there has been a confusion. My laptop is only 2.5 years old. Its Inspiron Gaming 5577 (Red). Apparently when I ask dell stores about warranty on replacement batteries they tell me I'll get 1 year OEM Warranty. What do you say?
I understand that they are third party sellers. They tell me that I'll get Dell Original Warranty. Is there something like that?
