Laptop shorting out charger

I have a vostro 5502 that has been fine for a year now, and then today all of a sudden.... Something strange has happened.

Everytime I plug in the charger, the light on the block part of the charger turns off.... I've tired 3 other chargers... All dell chargers for this laptop, all brand new too... And it does the same. As soon as I plug it in, it turns the charger off... Almost like its shorting out the charger.

I then thought that maybe it's the port that's gone... So I thought I'd use a dell charger which is a USB c charger as I know these also can charge using USB c... And... The same happened. Charger turns off when plugged in...

These chargers work fine on every other laptop.. So if when plugging into the circle charging point or the USB c charging point turns off the chargers... Could the laptop be shorting out the chargers?

Yes, that's what it sounds like.  It sounds like it's time to replace the system board.

If an improper amount of electricity is passing through the power supply, it can cause a short circuit in your laptop. Your device always needs the proper amount of current for charging or operating. If those numbers are too low, too high or jumping all the way from low to high, they can cause a short circuit.
