Processor Upgrade Advice Needed
I am currently using a Dell Inspiron 1420 running T5250 processor. There are three questions I want to ask. I want to upgrade it to either T7700 or T8300.So:
1.Is it compatible with my computer?
2.Which is better and faster?
3.Do I need to buy new heatsink or CPU fan to upgrade it or I can continually use the heatsink and CPU fan of T5250?

Either of those will work with this system -- and faster is relative (they're both chips approaching their teenage years) -- I doubt you'll see much difference; buy whichever is cheaper.
You must re-use the existing heatsink assembly -- nothing else will fit.

OIC.By the way I am wondering why T7700 have 4MB of cache when T8300 have 3MB of cache only?T8300 is newer than T7700 and that makes me confused which is faster.I don't care the price but the speed,even if it is only slighty faster.It is because I found a cheap bargain and it is just 9 or 10 USD only for two of the processor.So the speed of the two processor is the fully the same or not?Thanks!
