I have an 7000 Series Inspiron 13 and windows is trying to do an update and there is a problem with the Intel RST. Does Dell have an update for this problem?

Go to driver’s directory C:\Windows\System32\drivers find iastora.sys and rename it iastora.old.
Then make sure you REBOOT:
Then install Windows 10 1903 update.
After the Windows 1903 update is installed please try installing the latest "Intel RST" update???
Best regards,
U2
NOTE: As this is a work in progress please post back with your results.

I'm getting the same problem with an Inspiron 15 7000. Was the suggested fix successful?
thanks,
Laurence

Many have had success.
Just make sure you are not running a "RAID" disk system.
There was one report that it did not work and I am still waiting for a reply if they where using a "RAID" system???

Hi, I renamed the iastora.sys file and rebooted, but now my system is in a boot loop If I can break out of the loop, should I rename the file again?Reply U2CAMEB4ME

Look at the last reply.
Are you running "RAID" or a multi hard drive system???

Welcome to the Dell Community @Medic Girl
Just to let you know that this is an ongoing problem with many other models.
We hope Dell is aware of the problem and is working on a solution.
To better assist you, we would need the exact model number of your laptop/desktop???
Identify your Dell:
