Know your IDPA basics before you have issues

Here at Dell Support for IDPA/PPDP we often get on a customer Zoom to try to fix a problem but are slowed down a lot because the customer does not have basic information about their system.

It will speed Support greatly if you can have this information available before opening a Support case or joining a Zoom. It will also help you to be more comfortable and productive in your work with the system.

Know the major IDPA/PPDP components and how to connect to the various consoles.

This would include (for each component):

  • name or IP and if anything is needed to add to the end of the URL (i.e. for acm you need to add :8543 for the port, and for avamar aui you should add /aui)
  • the username(s) and passwords (Usually the IDPA common pw is used, but not always.)

Many customers keep a spreadsheet for this information.

If you are not sure where to start or how to connect to the various components, you can start with the Application Configuration Manager (ACM) here- https://nameorip:8543.

From the ACM dashboard you can click links to the GUI consoles and/or see IPs/names of all the components.

You can download the Configuration PDF from the ACM dashboard (button in upper right corner) and use this as a reference.

You can access the Product Guides here:

For Security reasons I am not posting details here, but Support can provide you help with any user name and password issues.

Questions/comments welcome.

If you found this useful please give KUDOS to help others find the information also.

thanks
