Authorization required API
Hello and good day,
We are trying to connect ServiceNow to the Isilons to collect data for the CMDB, we already did on 2 of the 4 Isilon we had but in the other 2 we get an error as soon as we try to acces to the follow URLs:
In the Isilons that is working as soon as we type any of this URS we got a promt asking for username and password and after fill out the info we get the desired information while if we type the URL in the other 2 Isilons we get this error immediatelly and it does not even ask for credentials.
{"errors":[{"message":"Authorization required"}]}
Seems to be something related to the API or something like that, sorry but Im just a Storage Guy with Zero knowledge on language or any other programing skills, I saw this Post Link to Solution? But it states that we have to run a CLI command "isi_gconfig -t web-config auth_basic=true" the problem is that I dont know what this does or If there is a way to verify something before I type any command in a production environment.
Can somebody provide some help on this?
Kind Regards.

Hello StorageGuyMX,
What is your current onefs version of your nodes? You can run the command on your production system, and you should not have any issue. If you want, you can open a support case before running the command.

We have OneFS Version: 9.2.1.7
I tryed to open a case with Support but they said as is not a break and fix they cannot help so I guess we are on our own, is there any guide where that CLI command came from, Im not able to find it in the API User guide.

Sounds like http or http authentication is disabled on the two clusters that are not responding.
Can you compare the output of "isi_gconfig -t web-config | grep -I auth" between one of the clusters that is working and one that is not.

Had the same issue on mine after upgrading to 9.4.0.10. This took care of it.
isi_gconfig -t web-config auth_basic=true

Hello arevir,
It is best to reboot the node to ensure that the changes have taken effect. You can make the changes without rebooting the node.
