Change Directory/File Protection Level
Hi,
Is it possible to change the protection of a directory/files to a lower protection than the one set at the node pool? Sure i read it could be changed to a higher level but not sure if can do to a lower one?
We have a node pool made up of 7 nodes that is set to 3d:1n1d protection as that was the recommended one in OneFS. However, i wonder if it is possible to change the protection level of a directory and its sub-directories/files to the protection 2d:1n if needed?
And if you can and i have a directory called /ifs/data/Apps/Andy for example. Once you set the protection on the directory called Andy do all existing and any newly created ones inherit that protection policy automatically?

You can create a file policy for that directory /ifs/data/Apps/Andy and will be able to change the Protection level. All the files in the directory will inherit the protection.
