EMCOPY - Error 5 to a share on the Isilon
Hello,
I'm trying to do an EMCOPY to a folder on the Isilon (from a Windows server). Getting Error 5, unable to set SD. Does not copy over the NTFS permissions. I have both full share and NTFS permissions. Also, I've added my account to the local Administrators and Backup Operations Group on the Isilon. Any suggestions?

Domain Admin isn't necessary at all, run-as-root to the target share is enough (as long as the target cluster isn't in compliance mode). The caveat, however is that that user needs to be a member of the local administrators and local backup operators groups on the source system to be able to override even an explicit access denied.
Also, be very careful with run-as-root, and don't ingest data in through a user-accessible share. Create an administrative share with only the service account you're using for the migration in the Share ACL with run-as-root rights.
My company's product DobiMiner does all of this for you and performs all the pre-checks if this is anything but a tiny migration.
If you want more info, don't hesitate to drop me a line.

Did you try to set the share permission to "run as root" on the isilon?

Do you have your "migration" user set to "run as root" on the target Isilon share ? That user should also be a Domain Admin user.

Thanks so much, that worked! And thanks about the insight about the run as root issues too
