iInsight IQ change timezone

We are looking to change the timezone for Insight IQ from GMT to IST.

Insight IQ version is 4.1.

Did found KB https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-in/000009534.

But couple of queries.

1. Will implementing the changes will impact the historical performance data.

2. Datastore is running at 99% , so if we are taking backup of current time zone , will the datastore run out of space.

We just want to be very safe in terms of not losing current and historical performance data of insight IQ

Hi,

Thanks for your question. From what I can tell it should keep the data, since the time in logs is stored in seconds from the current time and the value set is just for readability. https://dell.to/40D8b7F Page 32. But it may show the wrong data after the timezone change since current time-a certain number of seconds will be different. If you can’t back up and need accurate logging you may not want to change it.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hi Josh ,

I tried to follow https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000009534  but I am not seeing any changes for time zone in GUI , it is still showing in GMT .

Also restarted the insightIQ services , but it did not help.

To change the timezone in Insight IQ version 4.1 from gmt to ist (Indian Standard Time), you can follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Insight IQ web interface using your admin credentials.

  2. In the navigation menu on the left, click on "System" to access the System settings.

  3. Under the "System" section, select "Settings."

  4. In the "Settings" page, scroll down to find the "Time Zone" option.

  5. Click on the drop-down menu for the time zone and select "Asia/Kolkata" or "Asia/Calcutta" as the time zone for IST. These options represent the Indian Standard Time zone.

  6. Once you have selected the appropriate time zone, click on the "Save" or "Apply" button to save the changes.

  7. After saving the changes, the Insight IQ system will adjust the time and display it according to the new time zone setting.
