Isilon Initial configuration Documentation
Hey,
I was wondering what information does the engineers use for the initial configuration of a new isilon cluster? I just started my job as a resident and need the information for a new cluster install.
Thank you,

Hi chjatwork,
There are several documents available pending OneFS version and node type to assist with installation. You can search for documentation here:
https://support.emc.com/search
I would recommend filtering Scope by Product with either Isilon or the Isilon node type.

You can try the guides. When searching for guides based on OneFS version, you can usually find what you need with the first two digits of the version number. For example, if you are looking for information on OneFS 8.0.0.1, use 8.0 in the search. Here are some examples of guide titles. Note that some of the older versions of OneFS may not have a guide under every title listed.
OneFS Web Administration Guide
OneFS CLI Administration Guide
OneFS Security Configuration Guide
OneFS Backup and Recovery Guide
There is also an installation guide per node type:
Installation Guide
There is another hardware guide for assisting in the 40U-P cabinet installation:
https://support.emc.com/docu54813
There is a Site Preparation and Planning guide as well:
https://support.emc.com/docu52911
Additionally you may find the Support and Compatibility Guide useful:

Hi chjatwork,
Since this is a new cluster install, you should have access to your Dell EMC account system engineer(s). They would know the whole process from start to finish and can help you gather the necessary information.
Thanks.
