Isilon NL410 for home project
Hi all,
I'm looking at purchasing a used NL410 (36 x 6TB) for a home project.
I am just looking to use it for basic SMB file storage from a Windows 10 PC, probably configured as one large volume.
I'm assuming being an enterprise EMC product, i won't have access to any updates for the OS / firmware? Anything i should be looking out for? The data on it won't be mission critical, and for my usage, I'm not worried about latest security updates, etc. Just need a large storage volume and this seems to be one of the lowest cost options I've found with this sort of capacity. Thanks in advance.

Hello azgreen,
That is correct that unless you register the system in your name that you will not have access to updates. If you have never worked with an Isilon system I would not suggest that you purchase one. Most customers remove all the drives, so there will be no OS on the system. Without the base OS on the system it will not boot.
