I asked around about this and was told that you would be better off directing your question to VMWare in regards to HCL for vsan. It sounds like you aren't seeing your server model, and vmware owns that list.
Thanks but I think you may be misunderstanding the question so let me take another shot at it:
I'm not talking about VSAN support on the VRTX specifically. I am talking about the Isilon SD install guide page 10 which, as part of the install process has the reader "Identify systems compatible with EMC IsilonSD Edge" and in that section defers the reader to the VMware HCL for VSAN. I'm assuming they are saying that because the requirements are potentially similar that we should leverage that HCL not because VSAN is a dependency (at least as far as I can tell).

There is a new release available for download: IsilonSD Edge Management Server 1.0.2 with OneFS version 8.1
You can run it on vSAN as well as Dell VRTX.
